Policies

We collect what we need to run OpenEngine, and no more. When you upload a file or ask it to work through a problem, we process that input to produce the output you asked for. We do not use your uploads or your work to train public models.

• Account information — your name, email, and sign-in credentials (handled by Firebase Authentication).
• Your content — the assignments, PDFs, images, spreadsheets, and text you upload, and the workspace you build from them.
• Usage data — basic interaction and error logs used to keep the product working and improve it.
• Product analytics — aggregate measures of which features are used and whether they succeed, keyed to your account id. The contents of your uploads and prompts are never included.

We keep your information while you have an active account or while we have a legitimate need to (for example, a legal or accounting requirement). When that need ends, we delete or anonymize it.

Using OpenEngine. By accessing OpenEngine you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

Academic integrity. OpenEngine is built to help you understand, calculate, and check engineering work — not to break your school's rules. You agree not to use its outputs in ways that violate your institution's academic-integrity policies.

Your content stays yours. You keep all rights to the work you upload and create. We claim no ownership of it. OpenEngine and its own software remain ours.

No warranty for critical use. OpenEngine can be wrong. Its outputs are for learning and drafting, and must be independently verified by a qualified person before being relied on for anything consequential — and never used as-is in safety-critical work. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses from use of the product.

Here's honestly how your data is protected today.

In plain terms: OpenEngine is an early-stage product and does not yet hold its own formal security certifications (such as SOC 2) or run routine third-party penetration testing. If you work with sensitive or proprietary data, please use your judgment accordingly.

Please don't misuse OpenEngine. In particular, don't:

• Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the system, or breach its security or authentication.
• Access data or areas of the service that aren't yours.
• Disrupt the service or other users — for example by overloading, flooding, or spamming it.
• Use it to produce or distribute harmful, illegal, or deceptive content.
